The tagline to this site is “…thoughts from a twenty-something traveler, trying to figure out life one place at a time…” and it’s never been more true than now.
While I work on it figuring it all out, I’ll be traveling Europe (there are worse things…) This is going to be a different kind of trip for me because, while I’ll still be traveling solo, I’ve learned my lessons from Italy and will be combining work with seeing a lot of family and friends.
I also want some input from you on where to go and what to do! Here’s what’s up:
I’ll be starting with a weekend in Barcelona. While I’ve been to the city before, it was raining the entire time and my first time ever traveling by myself so I know there’s plenty I missed. I’m looking forward to strolling the streets, hitting the beach and staying out waaay too late. What else should I add to my itinerary?
From Barcelona I’ll be heading to Greece for a couple weeks. Though I’m mainly going for a conference (if you’ll be at TBEX, let me know!), I’ve never been to the country and am planning to visit Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, Athens and have time for a couple other places that are still up in the air…any suggestions?
I actually lived in London working after college but haven’t been back since. While I didn’t love it while I was there before, I’m interested to see what I’ll think this time around. What will it feel like walking down the streets I used to wander before? Will I remember how to get around on the tube? Will I like it better? Is it someplace I could see myself living in in the future? I have quite the list started of things I want to do, but still would love any suggestions or tips – London is such a massive city that any recommendations help! (Also – I’ll be attending WTM, let me know if you are too.)
Of course, staying in London and being so (relatively) close to Paris, I couldn’t leave without stopping by one of my favorite cities in the world. It may be a cliche, but there’s something about Paris that gets me every time. Where do you like to go in the City of Lights?
So – what do you suggest? Any tips or recommendations for these places? Any boutique hotels I should check out or foods I just have to try? Let me know in the questions below. (And be sure to follow along on Instagram for real time updates!)
