Angkor Wat in Cambodia is a fascinating, beautiful, confusing, unbelievable, frustrating, crowded place. It is definitely a ‘must-see’ spot, and worth the effort and cost to visit, but being surrounded by centuries-old crumbling temples sprawling out for kilometers in every direction that are then swarming with tourists and high tech camera gear is disorientating and, although completely understandable, a bit disappointing. It’s like an ancient Disneyland, complete with ticket booths at the main entrance and with crowds lining up to see the same shows.
Sometimes the crowd thins though, and you get the perfect shot.
